Yvonne Rogers

Yvonne Rogers is a professor in Human-Computer Interaction and has a background in cognitive science. She has worked mainly in academia but also in industry, including at Apple Computer Inc. and Alcatel. Her research focuses on augmenting and extending everyday, learning and work activities using a diversity of interactive technologies. She also has a passion for theory and has written extensively and critically about its role in HCI.

 

Helen Sharp Helen Sharp

Helen Sharp is Associate Professor in the Computing Department of the Open University and has held permanent and visiting positions at other academic institutions including City University London, University College London, and Middlesex University. Originally trained as a commercial software engineer, Helen continues her association with software practice through her research interests which focus on the intersection between interaction design and software engineering: in particular, how to ensure that the needs of the user are incorporated into the design of interactive products.

 

Jenny Preece Jennifer J. Preece

Jenny Preece is a Professor and the Dean of the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. She has taught and contributed to research collaborations in the United States, the United Kingdom, and on European Union Projects. She has consulted for a number of goverment departments and companies, and examined Ph.D. dissertations from many parts of the world. In 2005 she was Education Co-chair for the CHI conference and she has chaired the Education Committee of the British Computer Society. Jenny's research focuses on the usability and the sociability of social software for supporting online and networked communities.
